Exceptionally rare and exceptionally beautiful at well over 3 meters long this magnificent antique bronze frame must have adorned a most prestigious capital business, even in its day this would have cost a fortune. The quality of the castings is exceptional especially on a piece so large. This piece had obviously been laid up in a barn or similar for a great many years. This has given the finish a beautiful mixture of Verdigris and oiled bronze. We have just cleaned the frame and personally think that it shouldn’t be touched further. This really is the ultimate decorators piece, there could be no property that this frame would not enhance, whether you just inserted a mirror (we have inserted an old one in for now) or indeed use as a business sign its most likely original purpose. We estimate its age at 1890 and possibly made in France, more than that we prefer to let the photographs do the talking.
