The dry husk contains the dormant force waiting to be sparked into green life in the warm womb of the earth. The humble seed scatters, to fall on stony ground or fertile soil. The Green Fire calls the shoots toward the light to drink the fertile rays of the sun. It is the generating heat of the compost pit, the earth-oven transforming decay into nourishment. A Red Fire warms the heart through our love and passion, and is also the fire of anger and rage. Color of blood, of red ochre with which the Ancients were buried, this is the fire of life and death. The Yellow Fire represents the spirit, illustrated by the golden halos of the Saints in the ancient manuscripts. The shining sun fire is wise and illuminating, the source of strength and fertility. The Blue Fire is cold, focused, the still power at the heart of the dancing flame. Fire of mind and intellect, color of the vast sky, blue is the fire of the bards and of the poets. The White Flame is the mystical fire, color of the Otherworld from which we come and to which we return. Up to twice as long with UV glass, and far longer in an album. However, fine art prints are best stored out of direct sunlight for best preservation. This Black Museum Mat board is archival quality.
