Description Conflict “Against All Odds” CD The London anarcho punk’s fifth album, released in 1989 as a follow-up to the Final Conflict from the year before, with both albums having been recorded at the same Lodge Studio session in Suffolk, 1988. The second of two studio albums that featured the addition of Steve Ignorant of Crass on shared vocal duties. Like the previous Conflict albums this one is a mixed bag: there are great moments, such as the guitar-lead track “Slaughter Of Innocence” (respect to short-lived guitarist Chris Parrish), and “A Message to Who” is a worthy attempt at recreating the past glory of “The Serenade Is Dead”; and then there are head-scratching, WTF?! moments, such as the track “A State Of Mind”, a pretty excruciating attempt at acid house. But what is a Conflict album without at least one cringe moment? Bless ’em. Against All Odds by CONFLICT
