Description Kling Klang “Half Life” LP The long-awaited second album from Liverpool’s underground synth-rock ensemble. Worth reminding ourselves how Liverpool, for many years, the early ’80s especially, has been the epicenter for a lot of synth bands… more so than Sheffield? I dunno, I’m no expert. But I did once own a a Flock Of Seagulls record. It was an oblong picture disc. Kling Klang’s contribution to the regional tradition comes from a post rock/DIY punk background, and two members play in Part Chimp. Although, this isn’t as loud. There are electronic keyboards, but live drums provide the propulsion. If you are familiar with Watter, the instrumental band on Temporary Residence (featuring Slint’s drummer, Brit Walford) then you’ve scored yourself a similar deal – energetic Motorik beats, spacey electro sounds, in unison, to take you places.
