Description Spares / Treasure Pains Split 12″ Two variations on a shared 12″ EP both with a modern take on post-hardcore. Relatively new band Spares are from Portland, Oregon (following-up a self-titled debut EP from 2025) and feature former and current members of North Lincoln, Youth League, Lock and Key, Shores, Amusement, FeverSleep and others. Their music is post-hardcore guitar-driven tensions-meets-chaos. One track has Russian Circle vibes, and the other goes more up-tempo, with an effective Drive Like Jehu/At The Drive propulsion. North Carolina’s Treasure Pains are four friends who came together in 2023 with the idea to start a band like Hot Snakes (straight away, on hearing the guitar tone – mission accomplished), either intentional or not the end result is much broader and richer in scope (Open City and Stress Positions immediately come to mind).
