Description Mirrorless Self-titled 12″ EP The debut, six-song EP from the melodic-hardcore group recently formed by long serving members of the ever fertile Louisville, Kentucky alternative music scene. Fronted by the distinct vocals of Christopher Higdon, known for Elliott, but here sounding stylistically more like his even older, early 90’s band, Falling Forward. Joined by members of By The Grace Of God and Xerxes (No Sleep Records), plus Ryan Patterson, one-time owner of Initial Records and a member of countless great Louisville bands – Coliseum, The National Acrobat, Black Cross, Black God, Enkindel etc. This has got to be the best new band that I have come across on Equal Vision in more years than I can count… it has been a long time since they released anything that is so firmly rooted in hardcore punk, albeit hardcore that leans heavily towards the melodic side of the spectrum – I’m hearing Planes Mistaken For Stars tempered with a little Hot water Music. Plus traits of the individual member’s past band history is also clearly evident. And, like I say, there’s a little more Falling Forward than there is Elliott. As in, this is harder, faster and punchier than the lighter form of indie rock that you might have expected, post-Elliott. MIRRORLESS by Mirrorless
