The cute caterpillar resting on an acacia branch is one of our favourite duos. The tender colour palette adds a fresh breeze of air to your dining table. The beautiful Zig Zag Acacia and caterpillar are illustrated by talented Australian artist Rachel Gyan. Crafted from high-quality porcelain clay, fired with a semi-matte glaze, and finished with high-quality ceramic transfers. Craftsmanship process Our plates undergo a meticulous two-stage firing process. First, we use press moulding to shape the clay body and apply a softly speckled eggshell glaze in a semi-matte finish. The plates are dipped in glaze and then sprayed again before the final firing. Artisans hand-transfer screen-printed illustrations to the centre of each plate, finishing with a Poppy & Pepper brand stamp on the bottom. Design Our salad plate is inspired from a teacup & saucer made in the 1930s, with a short inward-tilting edge, and stood on an elevated foot. The centre of the plate is adorned with a small group illustration of an acacia flower and caterpillar.
